Overview.

In Bogotá, plastic waste is a significant environmental threat. The city generates over 900 million lbs of plastic waste annually, and less than 14% of that is sent to recycling. The biggest issue is with difficult-to-recover, low-value flexible plastic waste. Less than 2% of flexible plastics are collected and properly recycled in Bogotá.
Project Sueño Azul is a collaboration between rePurpose Global and ARB. ARB is one of the oldest independent waste picker-run associations in the world and represents Bogota’s 3,000 informal recyclers. Project Sueño Azul finances the collection and ethical processing of soft plastic packaging waste and some of the MLP waste is recycled into plastic wood that is used in construction and plastic bags.

Transparency made simple: introducing reTrace.
reTraceTM is rePurpose Global's proprietary technology tool for impact verification.
Every kilogram of plastic waste is recorded, uploaded, and verified through a chain-of-custody approach.
reTraceTM makes all impact data readily available for regular third-party audits.
